Bowden Brand
“565 Bowman”, rawhide covered wood tree,
Arizona style 24” bars.  Eight year pro-rated warranty on tree. This hand made saddle would be an excellent choice for use as a ranch, roping or working saddle.  A very comfortable seat made using a four piece ground seat.  Hand stitched horn and cantle binding.  With the combo rig, you can choose from full, 7/8 or 3/4 rig positions to aid in fittting your horse.  The Bork hardware is some of the strongest I have seen.  The flat plate rigging uses a lot of leather, adds some bulk and weight, but it is probably the strongest leather rig you can get and it will also help hold the back of your saddle down, especially if you rig in the 3/4 position.

- Seat: 17” Buckaroo style, four piece ground seat, two piece metal strainer.

- Cantle: 4” high, 13” wide, 1 ½” dish, 1 ¼” Cheyenne roll.

- Horn: 2 ½” cap, 3” high. Standard horn wrap.

- Gullet: 6 ½” wide, 8 ¼” high

- Swell: 12 ½”

- Skirts: 29” small round, blocked, plugged (plugs are pre-shrunk and compressed for longevity), lined with ¾” veg tanned sheep shearling.

- Stirrups: 3” Visalia, leathers are pre-stretched, turned and set with Nevada twist.  Blevins style, stainless & brass buckles.

- Rigging: flat plate with 6 ¼” drop, combo double rig with Bork bronze hardware.

- 1 ½” latigo tie strap, 2” single ply, heavy skirting, flank billets, 2” heavy skirting, doubled off billet.

- Montana Silversmiths conchos, stainless string dee’s, 1 ¼” breast collar dee’s fixed with nr. 9 copper rivets to rigging and nailed through to bar.

Laporte Roper, Poly-Tuff tree

15 1/2" seat, cable rigging

Trail or General Purpose Saddle

Hand crafted with a Laporte "Roper" synthetic tree. Bar length is 22 ½". Built for comfort, strength, and durability. There is a Lifetime Replacement Warranty on this tree. Further, this tree allows for much closer leg contact with your horse, and is lighter than a wooden tree. All the stitching on this saddle was completed by hand. This saddle would be an excellent all-around using saddle. The cable rig allows adjustment for placement of the "rig" anywhere on the cable and comes with the off-billet and tie-strap installed in the full position. Instructions for 7/8 or 3/4 are noted below. The cable is one piece construction that completely encircles the saddle from the swells to the cantle. The strings are beveled which allow easier tying. The stirrups swing freely.

To change the rig position to seven-eighths or three-quarters:

lift left seat jockey and unfasten the ½" strap attached to the cable from the buckle that is fixed to the tree, do not remove the strap or buckle unless you are positive full position rigging will never be needed

using a 3/32" Allen wrench, remove the stop collar from the cable, and re-install in the slot cut into the center of the tie-strap, do not tighten, just snug enough to allow movement

center the stop-collar, now installed in the center slot of the tie strap, to the desired position and tighten,

repeat step three for placement of off-billet on the right side of your saddle, to the corresponding position of the tie-strap.

If you are uncomfortable changing the rig position, please feel free to contact me, and I would be happy to do that for you free of charge.
